Megan & Brett are Married!

When I sit here and try to think about how I am going to describe Megan and Brett for this blog post, I cant help but have a huge smile on my face. If you have the pleasure of knowing these two, then you know how much joy and happiness radiates off of them. I knew Megan from high school but meeting Brett for the first time was something I will never forget. It was last summer, when I met them for their engagement session, and while most of my grooms are a bit timid at first, Brett had the biggest grin on his face and was so excited for this engagement shoot. It's hard to describe, but I don't think the excitement was to actually get his picture taken, it was more about the fact that he was engaged and documenting the amazing relationship he had with Megan. I could tell within minutes of shooting that Brett absolutely adores Megan. The kind of love that just pours out of someone and you cant help but feel like your watching the stills of a romantic movie as you edit... and I really mean that! Sometimes it's a difficult task to get my grooms to break out of their shell, but not Brett! I can tell these two live for every moment, and their wedding day was definitely no exception.

It was on Megan and Brett's very own farm that they said their vows and became husband and wife. I cant think of a better place they could have been married. Over the past couple of years, this farm has been transformed by these two. Harvesting all their own organic produce and even raising chickens and pigs. They also grown hops and make their own beer! But one of the coolest parts of their wedding day was that almost all of the food they served to their guests was grown on their own farm!! This farm to table dinner looked absolutely delicious! What a cool way to share such an important part of your life with all the people you love most.

When pulling up to the farm, the first thing you saw was a field full of tents! Yes, Megan and Brett (and any family and friends who were brave enough) camped out on their farm that night! After being sent off with a sparkler exit, this crew kept the party going with a bonfire out in their field. Another really unique part of this day, that I think really reflects the kind of people Megan and Brett truly are, is Megan's engagement ring. This is by far the most unique ring I have ever seen and was lucky enough to photograph! Brett had this ring custom made for Megan. While the center stone is a traditional diamond, next to the diamond is a piece of turquoise sea glass and on the other side, a small pebble from the beach. Whats even better is that Brett took Megan back to the exact spot he found the pebble for her ring, and this is where he proposed to her. <<insert heart eyes here!>>

Megan and Brett, your wedding day was such a joy to photograph and I am so thankful to have been a part of it! Everything you put into your wedding day was a true reflection of who you both are and thats how it should be! I wish you all the best and I hope I will run into guys at the farmers market soon! : )
