I first met Marquita and Chris on November 30th 2013. It was during Cami and Cori Cluster's lovely wedding reception that I was shooting. Marquita and Chris were not guests but the amazing DJ/MC's for Cami and Cori's wedding. I loved them as soon as we introduced ourselves and had such a good time that evening. I think all their friends and family can agree that these two have such infectious personalities. As Cami and Cori's reception was coming to an end, I just wanted them to be my friends! Its always so nice to work along side others who even after a long day keep you energized and in great spirits. I mean, you just can't help but have the biggest smile on your face when talking with Marquita! So at the end of the night (if my memory serves me right) Marquita told me that she and Chris had just recently gotten engaged and were looking for a wedding photographer. Well soon after that night I received an email from Marquita, followed by a few Panera dates later, and the rest is history! I can't believe the day has finally come and gone and I must say it was even more perfect than I imagined it would be.
My day of documenting these two couldn't have started off any better than it did. I first met the boys at the Hilton where they were getting ready and kept me well entertained. I can't say it enough, a fun groom and goofy groomsmen are the absolute BEST!! They had no problem laughing for the camera, hanging out in a bathtub together, and helping each other get ready... without any instructions from me. It was fun and made my job a piece of cake. Not to mention, they just so happened to choose a hotel that had the perfect color wall for their wedding day. It matched their ties and most importantly Chris's incredible shoes! (You guys may or may not be getting an overload of shoe shots...) For those of you who know Chris, you know he is a sneak head. A term I was unfamiliar with before meeting Chris. So over the past year I have been patiently waiting to photograph these shoes he was telling me about and it was worth the wait!
Once arriving to Coconut Malorie, I was greeted by the same Marquita I am greeted by every time I see her. With a huge smile, a huge hug, and a warm greeting. Except on this day she had a brides glow about her and I could tell she ready to walk down that aisle. To say Marquita was stunning on her wedding day would be an understatement. I don't think I could come up with enough ways to describe how perfect she looked in that dress. Although her shoes were pretty amazing too, my favorite detail was the head piece she wore. It was simply breathtaking when she put it on for the first time.
The entire day was a perfect reflection of Marquita and Chris. From the flowers by Little Miss Lovely to all the mint details and desserts. This day was beautiful, fun, and unique. The reception was such a blast and I had so much fun documenting these two families get down on the dance floor, especially Marquita's Goddaughter who is also now a contender for my adorable flower girl that ever existed...
Marquita and Chris thank you guys SO much for not only letting me be a part of your day but for also becoming my friends. You two are such an amazing couple and you both have such great souls. I wish you all the best and can't wait to see what the future holds for your new life together!
