This is a long blog post for many reasons. The main reason being the obvious.. that this day was incredibly beautiful and just about perfect in every way imaginable. The second reason is because Hayley and Carey are two of the nicest, most genuine, and down right one of the cutest couples I have had the privilege to work with. The third reason is because we were blessed with one of the nicest fall days of the year and shooting in the Historical St Martins Church again confirms, that is one of my all time favorite ceremony locations. Its just amazing!
The day started off at Hayley's dads house where she and the girls got ready. I loved hanging out with Hayley and all her closest girl friends. Its easy to see that this close knit group really cares for each other and it was fun watching them all have a good time while they got ready. I especially loved watching their dog hang out with the girls. When given the opportunity, these dogs are too funny not to photograph!
Now I also must say, it seems at every wedding, I gravitate towards shooting a lot of one certain thing. (besides the bride and groom of course!) Whether it be the flowers, a certain detail that stands out, the wedding dress etc. I always seem to find something that stands out to me and I can't help but take one too many photos of it! Well for Hayley and Carey's wedding its safe to say that I was loving their flower girl and ring bearer. Savannah and Clay are brother and sister. These two were sweet, respectable, so well mannered, and just so cute! I couldn't stop taking photos of them, especially during the ceremony. While most kids often get bored and end up gazing off into the distance, these two were so entranced by Hayley and Carey. I loved watching their expressions and big smiles through out the whole thing. So needless to say, this blog post has so many photos of Savannah and Clay because I just couldn't choose between them!
Like I said above, the ceremony was held at the St. Martins Historical Church. Tucked away near the woods lies this amazing old church that was built in the 1700's. Although refurbished, it still has beautiful character and feels as if you have stepped back in time when you walk in. Even though it is so old, there is something so timeless about the building. After a beautiful ceremony, we took some fun photos with the wedding party outside of the church and then we headed to the reception at the Ocean Pines Yacht Club. This was a real party from start to finish. The dance floor was packed until the end of the night and even after the last song had played and all the lights came on, it was hard for this group to leave the dance floor. After such a great reception, it was clear that Hayley and Carey have an amazing group of friends and family in their lives.
Hayley and Carey, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your big day! I felt nothing short of a guest and I can't thank you enough for letting me document your love story. I wish you two all the best and can't wait to see what the future holds for your marriage!
