I have been looking forward to this blog post for almost a year now. I was lucky enough to be able to document the wedding of two wonderful friends that are near and dear to both mine and my husbands heart. Jaime and Tommy both went to high school with my husband and I. Jaime and I cheered together through high school but our friendship grew even closer when we re connected after college. I am so blessed to call her a good friend of mine and truly admire her sweet, compassionate, and caring outlook on life.
Jaime’s favorite flower is the Sunflower. About this time last year, Tommy took Jaime into a sunflower field on his moms farm and proposed. So, it was only fitting for them to become husband and wife, one year later, in that same beautiful field that filled with these vibrant yellow blooms.
These two were given the most perfect summer day to exchange their vows. It began with a ‘good luck’ rain shower as the girls got ready and then the clouds parted, revealing a bright blue sky for the rest of the afternoon. When Jaime walked down the stairs in her wedding dress, my breath was literally taken away, so I can only imagine how Tommy felt when he saw her for the first time walking down the aisle. All the girls dresses were a shade of mint and with the pop of yellow from their single sunflower bouquets it couldn’t have been more perfect.
Again, like so many other weddings, I couldn’t help but fight back the tears when Jaime’s dad and Tommy’s brother Chris gave their speeches. They were so heartfelt and really reflected the close knit and loving relationship Jaime and Tommy have with their families. The celebration went on through the evening and everyone (including myself!) danced the night away. I feel blessed to have been a small part of their story and documenting these two say “I do” was an honor. Tommy and Jaime, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your love story. I have no doubt that your lives will be filled with love and endless adventures.
