It was in the afternoon that I arrived to the Weatherly Farm in Newburg, MD, Jenn and Kevin’s backdrop for their wedding day. I was completely blown away by how beautiful and southern it was. It felt as if I had driven all the way to Louisiana for this wedding! The house, the waterfront location, the barn, even the long driveway had me anxious to start shooting. While Jenn got ready in the bridal suite, I strolled around the property with the groom and his fellow groomsmen. I could tell Kevin was excited to finally see Jenn for the first time during their “first look”. This is probably one of my all time favorite first looks! The anticipation on Kevin's face as he hears Jenn’s footsteps getting closer and closer is priceless.
Jenn and Kevin said their vows under the most perfect tree that sat right on the waters edge. It was an evening wedding so the sun was shining through the branches in the most beautiful way. After they said their “I do’s” we took a walk down the dock and I was praying these two would want to dip their feet in the water and thankfully Jenn and I were on the same page. (sorry Kevin!) I think these two would have stayed on the dock all night if they could!
I absolutely loved all the nautical touches Jenn and Kevin added to their day. From the navy color scheme, to the striped sandals the girls wore during the reception, to the anchor and oar signs… These two had a life size Jenga game set up, 4 sets of corn hole, and they even chose to have an acoustic style band play at the reception instead of a DJ. All these things really set the tone for such a relaxing and fun evening. Every aspect of this night felt like the perfect reflection of who Kevin and Jenn are as individuals and as a couple.
Jenn and Kevin, thank you so much for choosing me to document this amazing day. You guys are easy going and just so much fun to be around. I wish you both all the love and happiness in the world.
