What a perfect start to my weekend. Katie and JR tied the knot at the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club on the most beautiful day of the year. This was my first time shooting at the Beach Club and I absolutely fell in love with this venue. With the Bay Bridge as their back drop Katie and JR said their "I do's" and celebrated through the night with all their family and friends.
There are so may things I loved about Katie and Jr's wedding. To start, the nautical theme and the bride and grooms boat shoes were too cute. I think I took more than enough shots of their feet… The lanterns, wooden crab hammers for favors, and pink mason jars gave the perfect bayside touch to the reception. Not to mention all the guests were given sandals and glow sticks for when the dancing got started. And boy, did the dancing get started! I am not lying when I tell you that Katie's grandmother personally requested the wobble, led the entire dance, and had more rhythm then I ever could while attempting the wobble. It was by far one of the highlights of my night!
The fun didn't stop there, when it was time to cut the cake everyone was patiently waiting to see if these two would be sweet and feed each other nicely or have a little fun and smash it in each others faces. Given the care free nature and fun spirit of Katie and JR, I had a feeling it was going to be option 2. Unfortunately I didn't have the space to share the entire 10 shot sequence of cake smashing but I did post a few : )
Katie and JR, thank you so much for allowing me to document such a spectacular day! I wish you all the love and happiness in the world.
